Rage Winterchill bite the dust as AC one shot him. The wave of mobs are the biggest challenge of the fight. I died either on the 8th or 9th wave when I got aggro from 4 Abominations. I tried to run back but got locked out as I was getting ready to head into the instance. I didn't get credit for the kill! Either way it was my fault, hopefully we get Mt. Hyjal on our regular raiding schedule and I would be able to get credit on the next kill.

This is raid getting ready to start the event.
We did kill Alar before we went to Mt Hyjal but it took us several tries. One of the try was caused by me falling down the platform accidentally. It sucks knowing you just wiped the raid. The margin of error with the Alar fight is huge so everyone has to be on top of their game. Tanks needs to be in the right position and should be able to taunt and pick up adds at the right time. Healers needs to be to heal everyone while running around while DPS needs to watch for aggro and watch for flame patches.

Toughest Wave in my mind is Wave 6, 6 Aboms and 6 Ghouls. We call it the 6 and 6 Wave in vent. The next wave is no cake walk. We call it 4, 4, and 4. 4 Aboms, 4 Necros, and 4 Ghouls. The Necros seem to all pick the same target for the opening Shadow Bolt Volley which can be up to 16k in damage if nothing is resisted (OUCH!). We usually have a Warrior up front with Spell Reflect up.
The Abom can stun you. Once you are stunned their is no more dodge, parry, or block. This can be DEADLY to your Paladin tank who should have 6 Ghouls banging away on him.
Shackles, Pally Fear, CC those Aboms any way you can, you don't want more than one (maybe 2) banging away on your tank.
Grats on Rage kill! Hopefully I can start raiding steadily with you guys again next week.
Mate... there's no 9th wave... only 8 of them and then boss! And you get Abominations only on last 2 waves, i'm not sure about the amount.
