Having 0 +hit really bite me in the ass last sunday when we went to ZA. The group was trying to complete the bear boss under the time limit. Taunting is part of what I had to do and he resisted my taunt twice. In short, we didn't get to take him down within the given time limit. We were late by 1 minute 20 secs I think (because we wiped and had to reset once). BUT the good thing about that is he dropped the boots that I badly needed. Jungle Stompers will enable me to re-gem and add +hit. The chess event has been bad for me, no king's defender and the battlescar boots so far (I have been to alot of chess event and I haven't seen it drop).
+hit will always be an issue when taking on the bear boss and I am planning to get more by replacing my range weapon with something with +hit on it. One option that I am looking at is the Veteran's Musket which requires having exalted rep with Honor Hold. The gun has +11 hit rating which would really help when tanking the bear boss. I think I will need 1 more SH run to get exalted and with some many raids going I need to set time out to run SH on off nights.
I was also fortunate to get into a kara group that took out Nightbane last night after our raid. He dropped Shield of Impenetrable Darkness which is really nice. Too bad the Panzar'Thar Breastplate didn't drop, because that would have been a bigger bigger upgrade for me. In any case, props to the guild especially for our GM Fio for taking the time out to gather a group just to kill Nightbane.

Didn't you say a while back that you'd picked up the Ogri'la crossbow? That's got the same +hit and AGI as the Vet's, but gives you STA instead of attack power. Just curious as to why you'd pick the one over the other, since yer giving up a ton of STA when ya swap out the G-BKD.
I was at work and wasn't sure if I was exalted with Honor Hold or not. With the Ogri'la crossbow, wouldn't you need 4 apexis crystal + 100 shard for it? It's a pain to get people to do this group stuff in BEM while if I am exalted, I can just pick it up and use it.
If I ever get a group to get apexis crystals then I will definitely use the crossbow. As it stands right now, I will only use the plus hit on certain fights and G-BKD will always be my main choice.
Regarding the +hit issue, I always had trouble with this part. Stunning to know tanking gears lack +hit rating, and eventually got me struggling with getting mobs to stick to me, and building quick aggro. I was forced to swap few +12 gems with +8 hit. Until I discovered the Breastplate of the Warbringer. Really stupid of me to discover this very late, considering you get it as a quest reward al level 66. I use this very often now, on trash mobs specially. I also have got the Jade Skull with me. I have tanked heroics, and recently got into Kara. Out of curiosity I decided to swap the Breastplate of Warbringer with Jade Skull. I began missing a lot again, and it was stressing to have mobs to stick to you. Once again switched back with the other chest. All hit issues solved. Really sucked to miss the opening slam. Yes I do lose on the Block rating, a little of 100 armor and 5 stamina, compared to the Jade Skull. But I make up for it by swapping the +8 hit gems with +12 stamina. The Breastplate of Warbringer is a quest reward and has got +30 hit rating. For some reason this is very under rated gear. But tbh, it is not.
I still rock the warbringer for most fights as well, even though I have jadeskull too. That +hit is just great.
Ah, I was thinkin' ya already had the crossbow. Yeah, you need the crystals and they is a pain in the arse to get. Why the Ogri'lalas make it easy to solo up to exalted, then you need to find a 5-man before you can buy anything, is a big dumb, imho.
rashag, i meant to get it back then but couldnt convince the group to stick around to kill more elites after picking up crystals for the boots. maybe i can convince people again this coming weekend.
i actually might have that quest still in my log! I have to check when I get back and see.

Thank god for guildies that understand how much gearing up your tank can benefit the rest of the raid. Granted they both seem to be good people who would help any guidlie, but that wouldn't help strengthen my point now would it.
