So after last week's Kara raid where in we cleared up to Chess in one night. AC started at 6pm on the dot and set our sight on Aran, Prince and Nightbane. We took down Aran even if the fight started pre-maturely and left a hunter outside the door. It was pretty funny, we basically 9.5 man it since the hunter's pet got in and did some damage. At some point, 2 water elementals actually went after the hunter outside and helped us since we were all polymorphed. He basically took one for the team.

It has a lot more stamina but less armor. This is going to help me with my stamina gear as we get ready to head into Gruul's next monday.
After Aran, we moved quickly to try Prince! ZOMG, we get very very bad infernal drops. What's new? The random drops is really really making me dislike Prince. I haven't down him and I am beginning to doubt if I will see him drop or not. I was spec protection so I this is the part where I feel useless again. On our 3rd attempt our rouge sensing a wipe vanish. This caused him to bug on us. He became an invalid target and we couldn't attack him which pissed everyone off. DPS wasn't really a problem with this group so I really don't want to spend gold to respec. If we can 9 man aran, we should have no problems this piece of Sh*!t
Raid decided to forget about Prince and try Nightbane. Since we need 3 healers and only 1 tank, I was asked to switch and bring my Holy Pally in! I have heal 5 mans with no problems but this is going to be my 1st raid healing and I am asked to heal for Nightbane! Good thing that I am the 3rd healer who's only task is to help heal the MT and throw blessing of protection to our mage and some heals to the raid when Nightbane goes into the air. We wiped on our 1st try since most of the people in the raid are new to Nightbane. On the 2nd try, we took him down and I still had 8k mana. He is definitely easier than Aran or Prince.
We are going to try Prince again tonight and hopefully have 3 tanks to try Netherspite. We need the right party make up to take on Netherspite and I am looking forward to beating his ass.

You only need 2 tanks for Netherspite. Each tank can take a full duration of the red beam. Better with 2 tanks anyway, allows for more dps.
Heres a tip for Netherspite, during the non portal phase, you can run to the back of the room and not absorb any extra damage so the rest of the raid can regroup, heal, catch a breather, grab a beer, etc. Once the portals are back up, just run back in and resume the DPS.

When you say, "[e]ach tank can take a full duration of the red beam" are you talking about "dancing the red beam," coming in and out of the beam, or are talking about actually staying in the red beam all the way through the phase? I have never seen a tank with enough HP to withstand the full duration of the red beam without dancing the red beam.
I have also seen tanks switching between red and green beams.
He has to mean dancing. You wouldn't be able to take the red beam the entire time, and there's no reason to either. Just dance in and out.
We run 2 tanks on Netherspite and we rotate between red and green each phase.
Oh yes, the netherspite fight is not difficult once everyone understands what they're supposed to do. There's very little randomness involved, and it ends up being a choreographed dance.
About every 5 stacks of the red beam, the tank can step out for a couple of seconds, then back in, and it works fine. Make sure nobody stands in a black spot on the ground.
It is imperative that the green beam be grabbed immediately. I like to have the tank who is not currently taking the red beam stand right next to Netherspite between him and the green beam, so that if the healer doesn't get to it right away, it'll hit the tank (which would do nothing important) instead of Netherspite (which would heal him).
In fact, Netherspite is easier than the prince and, considering that all the trash up to the chess event after Aran is under Netherspite's control, killing him means that, should you not kill the prince before HIS trash respawns, you only have to deal with the last few pulls of flesh beasts.
In fact, i'd almost recommend Nightbane before the Prince as well, just because the Nightbane fight is much more controllable. Then again, the fact that he has no trash makes it a little easier to motivate the raid members to take "just one more try" at him at the end of the night.
Yeah I am referring to dancing in and out of the beam. You can use many different patterns. I like to take 5-7 stacks of the beam and let him get 4-6 stacks then I dance back in. It only buffs his dmg and you should have more than enough HP to absorb more dmg.
A word of advice, have the tank who can't receive the red beam spot the green beam. Meaning you stand in melee range of NS but in between him and the green beam. So if the healer is slow to take it NS doesn't get hit with the beam and thus healed. Nothing ruins an attempt faster than NS healing for 5-10% (except maybe the tanks dying:)
