Heroic Shadow Labs

I am sure by now you guys have read all about the guys foray into Heroic Shadow Labs. Tred and BRK has posted their versions of our run so I won't talk about it again. I did get a nice gem after Murmur went down. I haven't decided where to use it yet, dont like rushing stuff.

I have also decided to go armorsmith and started working on the bs quests for it. I will need alot of mithril and I dont know if I will have the energy to do it. At least it is something to do while not raiding. I found this in wowwiki. I am not sure how accurate this is but here is a list of materials one will need to become an armorsmith:
40 Iron Bars, 30 Steel Bars, 342 Mithril Bars, 26 Truesilver Bars, 12 Heavy Grinding Stones, 9 Solid Grinding Stones, 4 Citrine, 2 Aquamarine, 20 Thick Leather, 18 Mageweave Cloth and 1 Heart of Fire.

Wait, did I just see 342 Mithril Bars? I guess I will be farming alot of them!

I've never had a problem with wowwiki's info on blacksmithing, so I would expect those numbers to be accurate.

I'd recommend against trying to mine all that mithril yourself, unless you're really nostalgic for the Badlands and Un'goro Crater and whatnot. Instead, park an alt in the auction house and use him to buy all the mithril below some arbitrary price. Meanwhile you run dailies and farm adamantite or motes of mana or whatever works best to make money. My $.02, anyway.

Good luck with it, and I'll look forward to welcoming a new brother into the Mithril Order.

Hi,

First off, great blog. Second, are you sure you want to go through the pain and suffering (wallet-wise)of leveling BS for one piece of gear? Also, if you don't plan to run heroics constantly to upgrade it to at least the second tier, you will find an upgrade easily sooner or later... But I guess if you don't see an upgrade in the near future, go for it!

I am BS, and am going to try to switch from armorsmithing to weaponsmithing for the 2h mace.

I keep things simple by being a flower and rock picker :) I have a friend who has an alt chemist that I send flowers to and get heal pots, flasks and other assorted alchemist goodies. The mining is just a cash cow for me. It seems everyone wants to by adamantite ore (Those silly Jewelcrafters), I sell the Primal Earths like mad for some reason and once in a while I get a nice blue gem to drop :)

I haven't run Heroic SL yet, been wanting too. But I have run Heroic Mech a lot and got the The gem to drop in there that is similar to yours but +5Parry +6Stam. Really not sure where to equip it if at all.

I dont wanna pee on your parade Brigin. But those mats are only to reach about 250 in skill... :(

To go from 250-375 its another ballgame. 265-300 is Thorium land. On my server they are 20g a stack... Then you have a fine time up to 360 with fel iron, admantite etc. Be sure to read a guide and u wont need to spend one primal all the way. After 360 u need a felsteel recpie to achieve 375 without finacial ruin... Otherwise its 2-4 primals per step.

I am myself at 280 and going for Swordsmith, for the great 1h-er. But while helping guildies do BM I got my secon Latro's shifting blade yesterday - and I liek em a lot. So thorium grinidng takes back seat to Dual wield fun in SMV atm :)

Good luck!

Hehe, while reading the mats you need sounded rather funny, "40 bars of iron...easy. 30 steels pffft, three houndred and forty...WHAT THE #%$%#"

Good luck >.>

And BTW, once you get to Thorium recipes, now the best place (at least for me) to get buttloads of thorium quickly is the demon caves south of Winterspring. They are filled with 60 elites, but it was designed originally for groups of level 60's. Now at 70 you can prance around there with no problem and get lotsa Rich Veins very frequently

Where to get mithril... go to Stonetalon mountains the charred grove. Ride round and round ... I had an alt with mining that did it for me. I logged her every hour and took a ride. After two weeks I had enoughn mithril.
