Glyph of the Defender

As a followup to my previous post, I want to feature an enchantment every tank should strive getting to be added to their helmet. Glyph of the Defender is a enchant you can buy after you have hit revered with Keepers of Time.

The only way to get rep with the Keepers of Time is to run Old Hillsbrad Foothills and Black Morass over and over. Personally I really like what Blizzard did with this 2 instance. It's fun and exciting especially if your doing Black Morass for the 1st time.

As a tank, you would want to run Old Hillsbrad and Black Morass several times anyway. There are several items that drop that are worth a look. Not to mention Black Morass is a pre-requisite for Kara too.

Keepers of Time Revered also nets you the Timewarden's Leggins which I absolutely love.

I agree this enchant/ augmentation/ glyph is super hot. I was really excited that my core guild group was able to zip through BM last night with no scares at all. Everyone had a great time, with 4 blue drops in 30 minutes of gameplay (not counting the time spent clearing beasts, but the lw likes that anyway and everyone else is happy with the spider silk for those nifty 18 slot bags). So the future looks very bright for KoT reputation. :)

Please write a post about how you were able to generate 110k threat on Maiden tonight. Please. I was second on list with less than half that, going completely all out.

Wow ! 110K threat sounds like a lot. I'd also like to know how you did this.

I have an unrelated question:
I am currently trying to organize a "panic button panel" where everything that's needed when things go sour is in one place.

The panic button panel will include:

shield wall
a trinket that increases armour by x for y seconds
last stand
health stone (warlock provided)
stone shield potion
health potion
stone form (dwarf warrior here)

None of these functions are hotkeyed as I do not use them that often, so I need to activate them by mouse click. It helps to have these buttons all close to each other on the UI.

I am wondering which panic buttons you would recommend to include in the panel and, more importantly, in which order you normally use them.

Thanks for maintaining your blog. I drop by every day and always learn something new.

grim, a suggestion for your "oh shit" bar: if you dont already have bartender3 and Cycircled, get them.

ill let brig explain :)

@Doom How long does the maiden fight take you? For example 110,000 threat / 600ThreatPerSecond is a little over 3 minutes. He could probably do substantially more than 600TPS in a near infinite rage situation

The great thing about BM is that finishing the quest there gives you 8K rep with KoT, making it almost a one-shot rep run, too. Of course, given how often I ran BM before finally getting it, I was about 500 rep from dinging Revered without the damned quest, but I digress.

@khatia
the fight probably took about 5 or 6 minutes, i dont really remember. the point is, brig wasnt actually MT at the beginning of the raid. he came in after moroes. he was offtanking maiden for the first 3 tries, and the mt (who had been having enough trouble generating threat from the beginning of the night that the entire raid sans tanks had salv on) just couldnt keep aggro and we kept wiping. we switched a shadow priest for a resto shammy, brig took over as MT and we downed her no problem.

well in that case way to go Brig!! ;-p You might want to encourage Brig to have a friendly chat with the other tank regarding his choice for threat generating moves and rotation. He should be doing something similar to Shield Slam every 6 seconds(cooldown), revenge every time it's up (which should be every cooldown since shield block is getting spammed too), sunder up to 5 as quickly as possible and then devastate as often as possible, and heroic strike whenever you have a lot of rage. (basically you don't want heroic strike eating the last bit of rage that you could/should use for your next shield slam) If your other tank is already doing this I am at a loss unless God forbid he doesn't have defiance or isn't in def stance.

In all fairness. It was probably a long fight. Honestly I wasn't paying attention to the threat I was generating in the KTM. I was just working and using my normal threat generation cycle. I guess Shield Slam FTW!

This is sort of on-topic since it is a KoT question. I was wondering what people think are better pants... felsteel or timewarden's and why. I have the felsteel but should hit revered tonight so I could get the timewarden's too.

I've seen your gear, brigin. Please tell me you didn't go off to TK and SSC and do only 600 tps. I would feel extremely sorry for the dps in your guild if that's all you put out. My purpose is not to talk shit just to spur you onward. You should be doing 1200 minimum in a decently rage friendly encounter.
